Zsikla Wallcovering, established in 1961 by Julius Zsikla, has
built a reputation over the decades for reliability and
craftsmanship in the painting and wallcovering industry. Presently
under the leadership of Julius's son, Bernard Zsikla, the company
now specializes in the installation of high end boutique wall
coverings. An Art History major in college, Bernard Zsikla was
fortunate enough to be able to merge his academic knowledge with
practical experience, cultivating his proficiency alongside his
father and collaborating with esteemed designers such as Sister
Parish, Kevin McNamara, Thomas Britt, Mark Hampton and Kevin
Kleinberg. By the 2000s, Bernard branched into furniture
restoration, studying with an old world craftsman. During this
period he also worked in full house restoration and renovation,
becoming involved in all aspects of the home construction
business. Since 2015 Bernard has focused almost exclusively on
higher end wallcoverings, working with materials by manufacturers
such as Schumacher and Thibault, which require an abundance of
patience and technical experience. Zsikla prides himself on his
ethic for high quality craftsmanship, always asking himself how he
can continue to push his skills as a tradesperson to the highest
level possible. Zsikla Wallcovering primarily works in the New
York City and the tri-state area but occasionally undertakes
projects spanning the East Coast. The company has also now brought
on board Business Manager Trevor Laurence. This addition allows
Bernard Zsikla to focus more closely on the intricacies of the
installation side of the business.
